Political Decentralization in Uganda A Case of Agago District

Governments the world over have continued to grapple with the problems of service delivery provisions to her citizen. This has made many theories to be developed in order to find suitable ways to make provision of service delivery efficient and effective. Today, most governments have focused their attentions on bringing services closer to the people through decentralization. This book recommends that the local communities should be at the center of such policies and output should be more emphasized rather than on the procedures. It gives recommendations which help leaders and various stakeholders of local governments to improve on the implementation of political decentralization for effective and efficient service delivery. It is a useful book for policy makers, scholars, academicians as well as the general public for improved service delivery in local governments.

Peter Obicci Adoko was born on 8th August, 1971 in Kitgum (now Agago district) in northern Uganda. He holds a masters degree in management studies with specialization in public administration and management. His other qualifications are in the field of Business studies; religion and philosophy; philosophy; divinity; theology and pastoral studies.
